Thank you!

The wedding was a HUUUUUUUUUUUGE SUCCESS!!!!!  Thank you so much to everyone who came out, every who helped out, everyone who couldn't make it but sent their love electronically and otherwise, and just about everyone else!

I guess we just like you all.

NINE DAYS!

Yes, folks.  9.  We have arrived at single digit days remaining.  This holds several key advantages, first and foremost, I can put my toes away and just count on my fingers!  Second (and actually foremost) we can now rely on the incredibly inaccurate weather forecasting system to sew our dreams of a beautiful Saturday with fear and doubt.  Based on the weather the last couple weeks here in Pittsburgh you should be prepared for sunny-rain-clouds-storm-lightning-heat-humidity-wind all in the span of 1 hour.  As my step-mother asked, "How does one dress for 85 and rainy?"  To which I answered "I dunno."  We will be obsessively checking the weather forecasts for the next week, but as of now it looks like it might be stormy on the 4th, so I would say, bring a light raincoat or jacket and check the weather that morning to see if you want to bring it.

We do have a contingency plan if it is raining, so I wouldn't worry too hard about sitting outside in the rain.  But keep all of your appendages appropriately crossed for the next 9 days and we will hopefully have great weather after all!

ADDITIONALLY, it has come to our attention that many things on our Macy's Registry are waaaay on sale.  So if you're still looking for that great gift and would love to save some of your hard earned moolaz, you may want to check it out.

ONE MONTH TO GO!

Hoooooooooray!!  We are one month away from the BIG DAY.  That is so exciting!  Also, slightly frighteningly soon.

EMBOLDENED ANNOUNCEMENT: If you have not yet booked a room at the Marriott, do so now.  The room rate expires on JULY 13.  That is only 10 days away.

Less serious stuff.  We have been super busy with wedding things.  Our lawn games are coming along well, we have begun to plan what the actual ceremony will look and feel like (other than hot), and we have added new friends to the rank of people who will be helping us with the wedding.

We would like to officially welcome the lovely Danielle Burkhart and Claire O'Hanlon to our party.  Danielle will be taking the role of Reader - during the ceremony she will be reading a text that Sarah and I chose because it embodies the spirit of our relationship.  Claire will be the Orator - she will be handling the introduction of the ceremony and bringing that certain je ne c'est quoi to the whole affair.

As a last bit of rather sizable news: in an unfortunate twist of fate one my groomsmen, Jeff, was offered the chance to play the gig of his life on....August 4.  We were both pretty torn up about it when we talked, but we both knew that an opportunity such as this one to advance his career should not be overlooked.  As such, I would like to welcome a new groomsman to the mix!  Eric Burkhart has graciously offered to take Jeff's place on the roster and will be fulfilling all groomsmanly duties from this point forward.  I am very sad to see Jeff go, but also very happy to have the chance to involve someone as amazing as Eric more deeply in the ceremony.

Pentultimately, Happy 4th of July everyone!!

Finally, my grandmother Betty is celebrating her 90th birthday with a whole bunch of family today.  So Happy Birthday to Betty!  90 is kind of a big deal.

Invitations have been sent!

Sarah and I have officially sent out the last of our invitations! Those beauties were more than a month in the making and it is a huge relief to see them safely out the door and into the mail system. Look for your very own within the week! We CANNOT WAIT to start getting responses. ~Zach

3 months away!

Holy crapcakes batman!  We're getting married in 3 months.  92 days. 2213.5 hours.  That is so little time!

In related news: stress is building, but we feel we are on top of it and once we send out invitations (next week!) a major stress factor will have diminished.

Unrelated news: we made some updates to the website.  Now it is slightly more informative than ever before!

As a final note on this blog post: in the immortal words of Rita Leeds, "Married married married!"

Oh man it has been so long since we did one of these....

Hello loyal reader(s?)!

Apologies on the gigantic gap between blog posts, every couple days for the past month I've been like "we should update our blog!" and....yeah. I'm sure you've been beside yourself with worry about such a lack of information.

Anyhoo, here we go, a list of things worth knowing!
  • We bought our honeymoon tickets! And booked our honeymoon hotel locations! Pretty soon we will fill out our honeymoon schedule and update our honeymoon registry! Honeymoon!
  • We have been working diligently to create a beautiful and informative invitation. Our design process is in the final stages, and soon comes the veritable orgy of printing, cutting, folding, and gluing necessary to create such invitations. We hope to send them out in the mails in monthish, so expect them in maybe 5-6 weeks? That is the plan.
  • We picked a caterer and menu! Boo-yah!!! For a while we were on the fence between two awesome caterers with delicious concepts for our wedding menu, but in the end one of them just flat out had food that was more our style. If you want to check out his "website" here it is! It should be noted that while he has many menus on that website our food is not from those menus and no, we will not give any hints away.
So yeah, there it is. Notable updates from the last almost two months. Oh man. 4 months away. Wedding planning is about to get real.
